Old R-22 AC System Replaced with a Brand New Amana Unit

Here's what we were working with - an aging R-22 system that had clearly seen better days. Faded paint, cracked components, weeds growing up around the base. This unit was well past its prime, and more importantly, it was running on R-22 refrigerant, which has been phased out and is no longer being produced.

We pulled the old unit and got to work on the refrigerant lines inside. Proper brazing of the copper lines is one of those things that makes or breaks a new installation. Done right, you get a tight, leak-free connection that keeps the system running at peak efficiency for years. Done wrong, you're calling someone back out sooner than you'd like.

The finished install is a brand new Amana condenser - clean, properly set on a solid pad, and ready to handle the heat. The homeowner is already seeing the difference in comfort and energy use. Modern systems are significantly more efficient than what was being replaced here, and that gap only grows as older units age.
