We just wrapped up a full commercial plumbing overhaul at a machine shop in Saginaw, MI. The existing setup had seen better days - heavily corroded pipes, an aging backflow preventer that was well past its useful life, and a system that flat-out didn't meet current city code. For a working machine shop, that's not something you can let slide.
Here's what we were working with: old, deteriorating iron piping with corroded fittings and a backflow preventer that looked like it had been there since the building was built. Stuff like that doesn't just look bad - it's a liability. Corroded pipes can fail without warning, and a non-compliant backflow setup can create serious contamination risks for the water supply.
We pulled all of it out and replaced it with fresh copper. New shut-off valves, a new backflow preventer, and a new backwater valve to bring everything up to city code requirements. The Webstone ball valves give the shop clear, easy shutoff points - something you really want in a commercial setting where a fast water shutoff can mean the difference between a minor inconvenience and a major flood.
This is exactly the kind of commercial plumbing work we do regularly. Whether it's a machine shop, a warehouse, or any other commercial facility, aging infrastructure catches up with you. Getting ahead of it - before a pipe fails or an inspector flags you - is always the smarter move. The new copper runs clean, the system is properly protected, and the shop is now fully code compliant.
