A backed-up main drain is one of those problems that brings your whole house to a halt. No laundry, no running water without worrying about overflow, no normal day. That's exactly what we were dealing with here - a completely blocked main drain that had water sitting dark and stagnant with nowhere to go.
When every drain in the house feeds into one main line, a blockage there affects everything at once. It's not like a single slow sink you can put off for a week. This is the kind of thing that needs to be handled fast, and handled right.
We accessed the cleanout on the main line and ran our drain snake directly into the blockage. You can see the cable fed into the open cleanout fitting - that's us working through whatever buildup had taken over the line. Grease, debris, and buildup don't stand much of a chance once we get the snake in there and start breaking it up.
Once the blockage was cleared, everything downstream started moving again. The utility sink that was sitting full of dark, backed-up water drained out completely. That's the goal every time - get the line open and get the home back to normal as fast as possible.
Main drain issues rarely fix themselves, and the longer they sit, the worse the backup gets. We do this kind of sewer cleaning work regularly, and we know how to get in, clear the problem, and get out without making a bigger mess of things. Quick, reliable, and done right.
