Hiking Trails In and Around Brighton

Millpond Trail

2 Min Drive from Brighton

The hike is only about one mile long, but it’s a great spot to get away from the city and unwind while enjoying a natural setting. It’s also great for birding—a Michigan Natural Resources Conservation Area is located right next to the trail, so you might spot some of that area’s waterfowl.

The path is wide enough for two people to pass each other without difficulty, but you’ll want to be mindful of where you’re walking so your dog doesn’t run into the grassy areas and catch a snake! The trail can be crowded on hot summer days, and it can be slippery after rainfall, but if you go in the spring or fall when weather conditions are ideal, you’ll find yourself in a lovely natural environment with opportunities for spotting wildlife.
