Compensation: $25–$40/hour (based on experience) or straight commission

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician (Service & Sales Technician) with a minimum of 3 years of professional HVAC service experience to join our team. In this role, you will diagnose, service, repair, and install residential and light commercial HVAC systems while delivering exceptional customer service. You will also recommend system improvements, accessories, and upgrades to support customer comfort and drive revenue.

Technicians are expected to maintain a clean company vehicle, follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), and participate in ongoing paid training to enhance both technical and sales skills. EPA certification is preferred, and experience with both heating and cooling systems is ideal. Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and service HVAC equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, humidifiers, IAQ products, and related systems.

  • Perform residential and light commercial HVAC installations in compliance with Michigan mechanical codes.

  • Actively upsell HVAC services, system replacements, accessories, maintenance plans, and IAQ products to meet revenue goals.

  • Deliver excellent customer service by clearly explaining diagnoses, options, and recommendations in a professional and friendly manner.

  • Maintain a clean, organized company van that reflects Dion’s standards of professionalism.

  • Follow SOPs to ensure consistent, high-quality service on every call.

  • Participate in all required paid training, including biweekly sessions (Thursdays, 7:30–8:30 AM), manufacturer and supply house trainings, and potential out-of-state opportunities.

  • Collaborate with the team to uphold Dion’s premium brand standards and provide a seamless customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional HVAC service or installation experience.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, Michigan mechanical codes, and safety practices.

  • EPA certification (preferred).

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Professional and respectful demeanor consistent with our Employee Handbook standards.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills, including upselling and presenting service options.

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow company SOPs.
